Introduction:

Being placed in the northern shores of the Black Sea, the Crimean peninsula with 26.000 sq km. and 2 millon inhabitants, has strong cultural, social, economic and military links with Russia. Given its location, It has a significant geostrategic and military importance, especially for Russia.

Its reunification/annexation with the Russian Federation in 2014 was a blend of information operations, mixed with a deft and subtle application of force that quickly and bloodlessly allowed Moscow control this territory.
