ISRAEL, UN ESTADO DIVIDIDO ANTE LA REFORMA JUDICIAL.
Introducción:
En Israel, la controvertida reforma de la ley fundamental del poder judicial ha provocado la mayor crisis a nivel interno desde su fundación como Estado, hace 75 años. Esta reforma ha provocado una profunda división y polarización insólitas en la sociedad israelí entre aquellos que defienden un Estado religioso y nacionalista frente a los que apoyan un Estado laico y más pluralista.
Durante 39 semanas consecutivas, se han sucedido las manifestaciones, las protestas y las concentraciones masivas por parte de la población en contra de una reforma que vulnera los valores democráticos y pone en peligro la independencia y la separación de los tres poderes, alterando de forma notable el sistema de controles y equilibrios.

Introduction:
In Israel, the controversial overhaul of the fundamental law of the judicial power has triggered the greatest domestic crisis since its foundation as a State, 75 years ago. This overhaul has provoked an unprecedented profound division and polarization among the Israeli society between those who advocate a religious nationalist State and those which support a more secular and pluralistic one.
Mass demonstrations, protests and rallies have been taking place for 39 consecutive weeks by the population, which is against a reform that undermines democratic values and jeopardizes the independence and the separation of the three powers, significantly altering the system of checks and balances….
