NUEVA DIPLOMACIA: ORIENTE MEDIO EN EL MARCO DEL ENCUENTRO ENTRE ISRAEL Y ESTADOS UNIDOS.

Introducción:
Ayer, miércoles 20 de septiembre de 2023, se celebró un encuentro bilateral entre el Presidente estadounidense Joe Biden y el Primer Ministro israelí Benjamin Netanyahu en los márgenes de la 78ª Asamblea General de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), que tuvo lugar en su sede en Nueva York.

Se trata del primer encuentro cara a cara entre ambos líderes desde la reelección de Netanyahu como Primer Ministro y de la victoria de la coalición tripartita de carácter conservador y nacionalista el pasado mes de diciembre de 2022, hace ya casi un año. Tanto las fechas como el lugar elegido para este esperado encuentro no son fortuitos, sino que responden a una calibrada maniobra diplomática elaborada por la Administración Biden….

Introduction:
Yesterday, Wednesday, 20th September 2023, a bilateral meeting between US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was held on the margins of the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), which took place in its headquarters in New York.

This was the very first face-to-face meeting between both leaders since Netanyahu’s re-election as Primer Minister and the victory of the national-conservative tripartite coalition this past month of December 2022, almost a year ago. Both the dates and the place chosen for this long-awaited meeting were not coincidental, but rather the outcome of a carefully-crafter diplomatic manoeuvre designed by the Biden Administration….
